Goodnight Hooligans | Sleepy Doe
This summer sees the launch of Sleepy Doe, a new British childrenswear brand, specialising in luxurious yet fun sleepwear and bedding for children aged one to six years.
The inaugural collection has been designed to ensure little ones float off to the land of nod in the softest, most stylish pyjamas, tucked up in beautiful matching bedding that’s timeless yet modern. The new range features matching children’s pyjama sets, bedding (cot sheets, reversible duvet covers and pillowcases) and even limited edition matching ‘mumma’ pyjamas for the mummas who enjoy twinning. All products are super soft and detailed with hand-drawn prints, bringing comfort and style to the mini bedtime wardrobe and kids rooms.
With 10 years’ experience in the fashion industry, designing clothes for British heritage brands, founder Sophie Woodrow created Sleepy Doe in the historic city of Bath. This World Heritage city has inspired the print story for collection one, from the famous astrological architecture to the beautiful botanical gardens.
With the all-too familiar experience of having a child who doesn’t sleep through the night, Sophie primarily wanted to help give adults the reassurance that their own little sleepy heads can be as comfy as possible when it comes to bedtime, whilst also injecting her passion for simple, classic prints. With her experience, and knowing the importance of achieving quality alongside style, she hand-picked a 100% cotton interlock, to give the softest touch that can’t always be found on the high street. Sophie’s aim each season is to maximize chances of the good night’s sleep every parent hopes for.
Commenting on the launch, Sophie says: “I am very proud to be presenting the Sleepy Doe range from my hometown of Bath, which has inspired me creatively, both across the products themselves and each print. I have always wanted to use my experience in fashion and print design to launch my own range. I like how prints can define and give an identity to a brand and hope Sleepy Doe offers something for everyone. The unisex prints can be shared between siblings and the floral adds an English touch.”
The initial capsule collection (RRP from £28) is available early July 2016 at www.sleepydoe.com. All methods of manufacturing are sustainable and ethical and manufactured in the UK by independent factories.
