When Pitti Bimbo invited us to their 89th edition this past week, we had no idea what was in store. This was our first time attending the show, and it was out of this world! There were over 10,000 visitors and 5,100 buyers visiting over 600 brands at the show. We met so many amazing people and brands we have worked with in the magazine for years. Check out what we did each day below and check out our Instagram highlight “Pitti Bimbo 89” for live videos and stories from the show!
Day 2: Day 2 started off with the Apartment Fashion Show. We were surrounded by magical clouds and swings hanging from above. It was a dreamland. The brands that were highlighted were Amelie et Sophie, Michaela Buerger, Pero, Piccola Ludo and Velveteen. In 2020 we will see bright fancy dresses, pops of color, one shoulder pieces, billowing sleeves and circular silhouettes, metallic ruffles, amazing knitwear pieces and beautifully illustrated prints.
We then visited the beautiful brands in the Apartment and showrooms. Another amazing lunch and we were ready for the final fashion show-Kids Moda Portugal which featured the brands Laranjinha, Knot, Phi Clothing, Cherry Papaya, Patachou and Play Up. Trends we saw here were colorful, breezy cottons, lightweight florals, ruffles and lace, and muted stripes and dots! And don’t be caught without a straw hat in 2020!
Next we had some amazing strawberry gelato at Billieblush and headed over to the Pirouette One’s To Watch Awards. The winners were: One To Watch SS2020 Collection: Banabae (an amazing retro baby brand), and One To Watch Label: Yellow Pelota (beautiful classic pieces). Then Katie Kendrick and her niece Beau from Pirouette Blog interviewed me about being in Florence for the first time and the June Issue. You can see view the interview here.
The Special Pitti Click Party was an amazing finish to the night. At a Villa in San Casciano in Val Di Pesa, we partied with smoking drinks, oversized ducks and synchronized swimmers. The view couldn’t have been more perfect overlooking the hills of Tuscany. We forgot to check the theme of the party which was “Shades of Blue” and I just so happened to pack a blue floral dress- it was meant to be! We finally met with Farouk James, Linda from Smudgetikka and the girls from London WGSN!
