Peg Dolls

Artsy Hooligans | DIY Peg Dolls

If you and your littles are feeling artsy on a rainy day, these DIY peg dolls are perfect to make. The best part is that they can use their imagination and be as creative as they want.

Materials needed:

  • Wooden Peg Dolls
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Toothpicks
  • Newspaper (optional)
  • Gloss Glaze (optional)

Step 1: Paint the heads a skin tone of your choice. Wait until paint dries to add facial details.

Step 2:  Paint the bodies in whatever color you choose. You can create endless outfits with just a bit of imagination. Something we think would be fun is a bikini or a tuxedo đŸ˜‰

Step 3: Using a toothpick, add facial details (once skin paint has dried). We think a mustache would be fun to put on the boy dolls hehe.

Step 4: Add hair. You can really get creative with hair color, style and accessories for the dolls.

Step 5: Add details to the outfits once the base color has dried. Polka dots, stripes, zig zags, bow ties and necklaces can all be painted on with tiny toothpicks.

Step 6: (Optional) Glaze the dolls to preserve the paint and make them more vibrant in color (and shiny).

Step 7: Time to play!
